My name is Jana O’Brien. I was raised in Brazil, where I grew up within a very active life style: playing volleyball, swimming, working out, and dancing. After coming to the U.S., having my daughter, and changing my diet and lifestyle, I was not satisfied with the changes I saw in my body and health. However, I was determined to get back in shape and regain my strength and health back. Through commitment, discipline, perseverance and hard work, I did just that! I love working out, eating delicious and nutritious foods that make me happy and fit, and I have over thirty years of experience in training myself with different types of sports, dance and exercises. After being able to heal and take care of myself, and influence a lot of friends and family members towards a healthier lifestyle while going through my own process, I started helping others change their lives and reach their goals. I worked at 24 Hour Fitness for four years as a personal trainer and nutrition health coach, and I was able to help a diverse and substantial amount of people from all ages, genders, needs and walks of life. I now have been working with my clients for over 10 years, and I would like to help you change your life through individualized health, fitness and nutrition coaching. I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition recognized by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and Columbia University. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
I am also a certified personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, where I learned to develop easy to follow up exercise programs tailored to fit my clients’ body type, daily activity levels and goals. I specialize in corrective exercise training, using a systematic and scientific approach to both fitness and sports performance to successfully prevent injuries and recondition clients of all levels. I also specialize in behavior change, helping my clients achieve their fitness and nutrition goals more effectively with cognitive behavior therapy techniques. In addition, I am a level 1 Animal Flow and 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainer–practices that help my clients (from all levels of fitness) increase their spiritual, physical and mental awareness, develop strength, mobility, flexibility and coordination. Wherever you are in your journey to health, I can meet you there and help you using a progressive system that can advance you to reach any goals. I use a holistic approach that includes mindfulness, mobility, flexibility, strength, cardiorespiratory, core, balance, plyometric, speed agility and quickness, and resistance training.
I am committed and dedicated to helping women live healthier lives. After having struggled with my own weight, body image and illnesses, I realized that I can help women who have been struggling like I was, and who are committed to change into a lighter self! Each one of us has the power to transform ourselves into a happier, healthier and more fulfilled, person. All of us have powerful healing wisdom within ourselves and strength to make lasting lifestyle changes. The best way to heal and transform ourselves is by listening to our body and nourishing it physically, emotionally and spiritually. Confusion and negative self-talk keep most women from realizing their potential.
